Have you ever laughed so hard that it made you cry? Those are Pools of Joy. The laugh-cry can unearth buried treasured that we've tried to lock away; I have found that writing and sharing poetry with the world helps me to achieve similar relief from that which ails me.

Hut Hut Haiku is a book of Haikus that follows the emotional scale, from Shame all the way up to Enlightenment. Each emotion has its own chapter, totaling 17 compact collections of five Haikus in the 5-7-5 format. Haikus are a very creative and challenging way to express large ideas in but a few words.

The chapter artwork comes courtesy of artist Zukane Rain.

The book begins and ends with haikus about Shame and Enlightenment, respectively. All the emotions within these pages are familiar to the human psyche and a few glances could help provide insight as to how one can ascend - or descend - from one emotion to the next.
